Spiritual Life

Elementary School:
Our Elementary School, while secular, nourishes a respect of all people and instills the values of honesty, kindness, compassion, and forgiveness in a diverse world.   In order to understand world cultures, history, and even classical western literature, major world religions are studied starting in 4th grade to build understanding and tolerance of others and to develop culturally and religiously literate citizens.  In preparing for Middle School United Nations, understanding of current world conflict, and understanding western literature, there is a greater emphasis on the monotheistic religions, but eastern religions are also explored.  Field trips and speakers of major religions are a part of our program.  In the past we have studied Israel, visited a family's Sukkah for Sukkot, and attended the Qatar day  festival at VCU.

Middle School:
World Religions is a part of our Middle School Curriculum.
